Where do you drop off your lettermail boxes

A little PSA to clear up confusion regarding 20mm slot and where to mail your boxes. 

Canada Post community hubs outgoing mail receptacle is not the 20mm slot.

Know that the “20mm” size requirement is for the processing of mail in the sorting machinery at the CP facilities….not the receptacles where you drop your mail off. 

Canada Post designed these community mail receptacles to accept Standard Lettermail, and are not intended for Oversize Lettermail.  

Standard lettermail is required to be flexible and so the red metal rain guard is on an angle that often oversize lettermail won’t fit through. 

Not to worry, your box still counts as Oversize lettermail even if you don’t fit this slot. 

 You can deposit the box at your local post office or in the large red street receptacles.
